Sick Sick Sick Techno….

Yea I kind of stalled on posting up the track list because of my new job.  I just picked up a board operator/ production assistant position at WVAZ.  It is probably the best job I can think of, well, the pay isn’t great, the hours are all over the place, and its in the city ($$$ for parking).  But hey, its the job I’ve been hoping for since the beginning.  Anyways heres the breakdown: Drive

Well I guess you can’t win them all over…  I took a different approach to mixing this cd.  The only editing I did was playing with the levels after it was recorded.  It is completely live and for the most part I let the tracks play out rather than cutting and chopping or quick mixing them.  Once you really get into the set I feel that it flows quite well.  Send me some feedback and I will be sure to post it up.  Even if you hate it. those are more fun to read anyways.

My site has been up for about a month now and I have already received a few emails about my arch nemesis: “Phiction”… He’s a breakbeat DJ from West Virginia or some other southern state.  He’s got stuff up on Beat Port and its pretty damn cool.  I figured since we were so far apart that we would never have a problem with a name mixup or misinterpreted showings on flyers.  Thanks to the interbutts people in Tokyo can google Phiction and think we are the same person.  I don’t know who came first or who will stick around longer, but I know that I like my name and would like to keep it.  Maybe we could mess with the spelling even more, like Ph1ction or Phicti0n.  If I were to spin breaks the name would have to go but luckily for me and my fans (friends) that might be the only type of music I don’t spin.  Let’s see… House (check) Techno (check) DnB (check) Hardstyle (check) Trance (not at all).  Looks about right, ha!

Tonight is a great night! The official opening of dj-phiction.com and for the next week I will be constantly be getting updated with pictures and downloads.
